had not been blogging for so long.... anyway, stop all craps... LET'S GET STARTED!!!
Wednesday(3/1/07):
couldn't sleep well last night... cos very nervous... never unaware of what's awaiting me in that new environment... heard from Ming Xiu's mum that 34 is the fastest bus to TPJC... Ming Xiu is my pri. school classmate and friend... she was posted to TPJC as well...
met up with Lam at 7am... reached the JC at about 7:15 am... tts quite a fast journey... saw many familiar and new faces dere... Familiar ones are like Jetson and his friend... Aik Kun, Sze Ying, Stella, Zi Qi, Ning En, Yee Han, Olivia, Ihsan, Shu Ting, Xin Yi....and etc.... From my pri. school are Xin Yi(another person with same name), Ming Xiu( only saw her at the end of the day), Jonathan Gan... and there's the kids central girl, Kim... think she's from CHIJ... judge from her uniform...
all the J1s(tt is how they call the JC 1st year-lings) are to proceed to the hall... their AV system is so much better than JYSS'... but anyway... the AV hv many problems... will cum to that later...
the whole cohort of J1s were divided into 6 bigger groups... all the group names were pirates... OGs(orientation groups) 14-20 are in Davy Jones.... that's MY group!!! Ling Ning, Yee Han and Olivia is in it too... I'm in OG20... then before us are Captain Morgan(Kim is in it) and Captain Hook(Stella)... after us are Jack Sparrow(Aik Kun, Sze Ying, Zi Qi, Ning En, Jonathan Gan), Barbossa and Blackbeard(Ihsan)....
before assembly, I knew Karthika... she's a India...came to S'pore since young... then I knew her friend from OG19... Sharkina... she's a India-Muslim... they're from Ping Yi... then I knew Ting Ci(OG 19)... she's from Taiwan... came here 4 years ago... since sec 1 la... wow... I've made international friends... my OGLs are Swasana(I think I've spelled wrongly), Huda and Kelvin... two malay girls and... I doubt Kelvin is a Chinese becos he's unsure whether he's pronounced 'Jia You' correctly.... he lived very far... he told us... dunno Bukit Merah or Bukit Batok... haha...
we had assembly then at the hall... national anthem, pledge-taking and their school song... or rather... college song... the emcees, a girl and a guy... the girl's name is rather complicated... e guy's name is Andrew... The girl emcee and other student concilors(SCs) and OGLs taught us their college song... their song sounds very 'marching'... we also had to learn the college cheer.... there two college songs anyway... too much for mi to digest but luckily, the songs are printed in the handbook...
then we gt our orientation package... there's a shoe bag which will definitely come in handy in JCs.... there's a ring file, TPJC's foolscap, badge, orientation T-shirt(black words and white shirt), a pen, a water bottle, their handbook and the orientation book on subject combintions... and their college rules...
OG 1-20 stayed in the hall for interaction... we played Wacko... I rmbered many names... Dana, Sandy, Karthika, Nicole, Jacqueline, Su Yi, Carrie, Shally, Clement, Crate(???), Shaun, Ding Jie, Rebecca....
the hall is installed with air-conditioning... Davy Jones is under the air-con.. many of us are freezing... then are OGLs brought us on a college tour...
we had lunch at about 1pm.... they really follow tightly to the schedule and programmes they've lined out... tt's good... we had to change to our PE tee for dry games after tt... they games were wow wow wow!!! good!! but under the Sun... everything happened at their 'stadium'... outdoor!!! had sun-burn back home... everything ended at about 5pm... reached hme at about 5:30pm... OG20 won most of the games... except for two stations... tired...
Thursday(4/1/07):
had assembly... we were asked to bring thermometer but it's not used... sigh... I think... haha... bcos I'm late... reached there at about 7:50 am... many ppl were late... den the side gate is closed so had to make a large turn to the main gate... they've got 4 gates... nwae, there are talks about CCAs and subject combinations... we were to choose the sub. comb. tt we wanted to take during the 1st term... there's a performance sumhow by the Drama club... i wasn't sure till now, which CCA to join... dun wish to get back to Guitar Club anymore... also, there's subject consultation session... a 30min- break as usual at 10am... then we've changed in to PE tee again... this time the SCs and OGLs are teaching us their college's mass dance( for OGs 1-20)... it's quite tough... later on, we swopped and we went for OG interaction and photo-taking... OGs 21-40 went for mass dance this time round... all OGLs of Davy Jones(DJ) taught us cheers...
at ard 12 noon, the DJs(not Davy Jones la) of Power 98 FM came to tok about their station and their life... a lady and gentleman... Ros and.... 4get it... can't rmb... lunch at 1pm... ate chicken rice... $1.60... this time they were smarter...they divided the cohort... OGs 1-20 went for lunch till 1:30 and the other half stayed in the hall for more mass dancing... then we'll swop later on...
at 2pm, us DJ, went to the stadium to familiarize with our cheers and to think of sumtin for tmr's campfire and orientation night performance... each OG send out sum representatives to perform... I didn't... :)
Blackbeard and Hook are really at large group... oh well, Hookers I mean... they change their group name... haha...
those planning to take Bio. but had no Bio. background had to take a qualifying test at 3:30pm... not me... I'm not interested in Bio at all..
before they go for the test... the remaining of us had to go for the choir audition.. they say the audition is the college's tradition for all new J1s.... just a test on our pitching... voice wasn't good due to too much shouting and cheering... tired ... reached hme slightly earlier... b4 5pm...
Friday(5/1/07):
yoz!!! today's the last day of orientation already... a bit can't bear it... anyway... today's a long day... and today's the wet games!!!! Ling Ning didn't want to come... so she pass me the sub. comb. form ytd... sick sia... DJs have been missing since ytd... other groups too... all JYSS are nt coming... bcos many of them heard about the 'ingredients' that they will b using today for the wet game... mainly: EGGS, FLOUR, MUD and WATER!!! they should re-name the game... tt's more lyk dirty game instead... yuck!!! so only Olivia and I came... Ning En oni came on the 1st day... sigh sigh...
handed up our forms 1st thing int he morning... phew... nt much ppl chose the combination that mi and lam chose... H2: Physics, Maths and Econs... H1: Chem... tts our 1st choice... 2nd choice is that we just switched the level of the two sciences.... Chem as H2 and Physics as H1...
anyway, all the stations weren't too much... except for the tofu game and the egg & flour game... unfair sia!!! the hoops were not of equal distance from the members of DJ and the Hookers... that's why the hookers won by 2-1...... 500 pts... we've lost..... due to biasness!!! 2nd one was the water bomb... me kana hit by the water bombs on the head... ouch... twice!!! pain!!!but we won... coinceidentally, the station master for this game is Eugene who is a DJ as well... what can I say...
the subsequent two stations we still lost... we're still competing with the same group throughout... dread... cheater... our group
at last we were all so dirty and sticky... the only station we didn't go is the mud one... luckily or unfortunately... the flour and egg station is more than enough... all of us were lyk someone vomitted all over us... but we still lost... sigh sigh... at last... everyone took a plastic bag.. many Djs dosen't have even one again... mani other groups were simply too much... they took sooo much... some took a bucket full of water bombs... sick ppl... but the water bomb 'spark' off in the soccer field... yuck... where the mud activity was initially... our legs.... ahew... but it's still fun...
at last everyone went to toilets instead of just a toilet to wash up... after the emcees assigned groups to do area cleaning... DJ had to clean the toilet... btw, to describe a bit... the female toilet's shower cabins were flooding... cos the mud stuff and wadeva block the pipes... but Karthika, Sharkina dn the rest did a great job!!! Hooray!!! i went later but they say they don't need ppl anymore... we were dismissed at 2+pm ... our OGLs hoped that we could go hme and get dressed up lyk pirates... wow!!!they say such as: belts over our shoulder and down to the waist lyk Miss World... one side of our jeans rolled up, revealing a long socks... and a banzanna if we have it...
so reached hme at about 3 pm... bathed thoroughly... haha... and lam say she's not feeling well so she's nt going tonight too... so mi gotta go alone again... search the house but no signs of socks that were long enof...4get it den... amongst all my belt, none is suitable... in the ned... i oni brought a banzanna dere... but didn't wear it in the end... lolx...
reached at about 5:15pm... cos I've heard the emcee say 5pm and our OGLs say 5:30... but nvm...I've come in between... tok to Ihsan and Aik Kun awhile before we were asdked to settle in the ampi theatre outside the hall... Ak's stand make sum pt whenI asked where's the ampi theatre... she say but there's no screen outside the hall!!! lolxxx... but tt is it la... e ampi theatre... the principal started the campfire...boomm... the fire is so big... the ppl couldn't manage to extinguish the fire starter... haze haze... pollution... den many of the pirate groups did cheers before we proceed into the hall for the evening's performnances...
1st performer is the Blackbeard... their cheers are really the best... so's Barbossa's... anyway.. our's the worst la... I must admit.. we lack co-ordination.... and ours is too wordy to be rmbered... next is Barbossa, Hook, Morgan, Jack Sparrow and then DAVY JONES!!! in between they have games to calm things down... Karthika, Sharkina and Me decided to shout our lungs out since we're still the last and tonight's the last!!!
some groups just gang up in between the shows... like Blackbeard with Jack Sparrow... Morgan and DAVY JONES!!!! we were cheering for each other... Barbossa was Hip Hooray-ing for everyone... the Hookers decided to stay solo..... lolxxx... wad a scene....
Davy Jones performance was about a girl who's back from TPJC's orientation one day... she toks about the day... how they cheer, do mass dance and so on... she did all the shaking and wadeva... she's really good!!! ichiban nehz!!! then she watched TV... there's spongebob... they also did sumtin about nt buying pirated VCDs... becos we were pirates tonight!!!!! muahahahahaha.... DJs all stood up will the thingy ppl always use in concerts(glow in the dark lights in our hands) so beautiful... DJs were all powered up when our pts catch up quite a bit to the 3rd position... wohooo!!!! the DJ performers also did a dance... something lyk the mass dance... they've practice hard!!!! solid!!!!
we stood up and cheer very hard... we are united!!!! then we did the Little DJs cheer... while going upt the stage... all thr DJs you know!!!! that was last minutes' decision... bcos many groups went up the stage... so decided to go up too!!! guess what??!! we sang the school song that we've practiced with the OGLs and SCs ytd... Fortunately, our efforts did not go down the drain... we made every single person in the hall stand and sing it with us!!!! CHEERS CHEERS CHEERS!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!
Finally, the results, Best Cheers are to Barbossa... and wad eva.... can't really rmb... everyone gt a prize though... we had the Best Dress/Costume!!! tt's good!!! Morgan gt the top performance thingy.. they did dance la... and either the AV wasn't doing their job properly or their disc player wasn't good... many tracks were nt easily found and and stop and pauses... in between performance... causing a little embarrasement...
they rounded the whole show by 'thank-yous' and band perforamnces... we stood up and mixed around... many of us did the 'human train' through the crowd... haha... wow!!! a nice ending...
I must really thank all DVY JONES' OGLs and SCs!!! and other ppl involved!!!! such as the emcees, the teachers and other OGLs and SCs!!!!! most importantly, the 700+ J1s that have participated whole-heartedly!!!!!
