Watched "Angels and Demons" on Tuesday with June. Cos the book was too fantastic, and since the movie can only extract a two-hour essence of the novel, the movie wasn't much of a thumbs-up.
The scene tt left me the deepest impression was the "water" rescuing scene at the fountain. Professor Robert Langdon was rescuing one of the cardinals possible of being the next Pope and he realized his strength alone was insufficient, hence shouted for help. However, what he saw was ppl gathering and whispering around the fountain instead of stepping forward to aid the rescue. Fortunately, after a minute or so, at last, the bravery of a few men and a woman (i think) jumping into the pretty deep fountain almost brought me to tears. LOL!
I believe this scene is similar to what's happening in our society. I remembered I heard about a DJ discussing the issue. Imagine you saw a pregnant woman who wasn't feel well enough to even stand still and thus fell to the ground, will you go forward to help her? Or will you just stand a distance away and stare at her... thinking what will happen to her next. That DJ brought to light tt ppl were just too afraid to stand out from the crowd even if it's a good act of kindness. Unless tt pregnant lady pointed specifically: " The man in white polo tee, pls help me call the ambulance, I'm not feeling well.", or else, it was believed tt little or no one will initiate to lend a helping hand.
Is tt really true?
If it is, then what's wrong, man?!
Another scene tt's memorable will be the line of a certain police crew chief. He said he already ordered some of his men to the place suspected of having an explosive anti-matter. Hence, his subordinate questioned: "Don't you need to be there to issue commands?" He replied violently: " I don't need to be there! I will be staying here." Well... when it comes to facing death, ppl are always afraid and shunning. I guess, this is one great example.
